After enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) — or as we often refer to it: Authy security — any important action on your Remitano account, including withdrawals, settings updates, or trading operations, will require you to enter a valid Authy code.
If you're seeing errors like:
“Invalid or expired Authy token”
“You have exceeded the number of allowed requests for this action”
...this guide will help you fix them.
There are several possible reasons for getting an invalid or expired Authy code, but the most common issue is a mismatch between the time settings of your device and the Remitano server.
Let’s go step-by-step to troubleshoot it.
If you have more than one Remitano account or Gmail/Facebook login:
Make sure you're entering the Authy code from the correct linked account
Each account has its own Authy setup — the wrong one will generate a code that fails
This is the most frequent reason for 2FA errors.
If the time on your phone (where Authy or Google Authenticator is installed) and the time on your computer/browser are out of sync, the codes will not match what the server expects.
Here’s how to fix that:
Open the Google Authenticator app
Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) → Settings
Tap “Time correction for codes”
Tap “Sync now”
(You may add a screenshot of this screen if available)
Go to Settings
Tap General → Date & Time
Turn ON “Set Automatically”
If already ON, toggle it OFF for 5 seconds, then turn it ON again
This ensures your device syncs time from the internet.
Go to System Settings
Choose Date & Time
Enable “Set time automatically”
Right-click on the time display in taskbar
Choose “Adjust date/time”
Enable “Set time automatically” and “Set time zone automatically”
If none of the time correction steps work and you still can't access your Remitano account or complete key actions:
Follow this guide to disable Authy temporarily
Or visit your Remitano app/web → Settings → 2FA → “Disable Authenticator”
You may be required to upload a KYC selfie as verification to protect your account.
Always keep your device time synced with the internet
Backup your 16-digit Authenticator key
Recheck your device’s time zone settings before traveling
If using Authy on multiple devices, ensure they’re synced
An invalid or expired Authy code is usually a minor technical issue — but when it happens, it can prevent important actions.
By ensuring your device time is synced and you're using the correct 2FA code, you can avoid 90% of such problems.
